Preston People’s Choir is a friendly choir which welcomes everybody who wants to enjoy singing in a group.  We learn the songs by ear so you don’t need to be able to read music.  There are no auditions and you don’t need any experience.  We sing a wide range of songs from all over the world.  We currently have around 60 members.

Where and when?

Our sessions are every Tuesday evening (during usual term time) from 7pm to 9pm in Room 226 in The Media Factory on  Kirkham Street, Preston, Lancashire PR1 2XY, close to Fylde Road.

What does it cost?

The first time you come it’s free so you can see if it’s for you. After that we ask for £3, £4.50 or £6 each session, depending on your circumstances.

We are a Natural Voice Choir, which means celebrating the voice you are born with, rather than training it to an ideal of perfection. It's about welcoming all voices into a group without auditions and working from there to make a group sound. And it’s about doing all that whilst having fun!

Some of the choir have just returned from a successful weekend singing in Kendal in the 'Street Choirs" festival.  We joined around 40 other choirs in a mass sing at the Brewery Arts Centre, and then busked at three town locations to raise money for charity.  In the evening we performed two songs in front of hundreds of people in the Kendal Leisure Centre.   Here are some pictures!  Next year the event is in Brighton.
